The colour of 2027 is an electric, lapis-lazuli blue — and it happens to be the colour our gallery is named for. Three ways to hang Luminous Blue: as heritage, as electricity, and as the quiet end of the night.

The colour, and why it is suddenly everywhere
Trend forecasters WGSN and Coloro named Luminous Blue their Colour of the Year for 2027: an electric sapphire they trace back to lapis lazuli, the pigment that was once worth more than gold. Paint companies will spend next year selling you a blue room. We would rather sell you a blue wall — art delivers the colour at full saturation, in a frame, on a wall you already own, and when you tire of it you move a picture hook instead of repainting. Below, the three registers the colour comes in.
The electric register: two cobalt abstracts at 70×100, and nothing else on the wall.
The electric route: cobalt at full volume
The most direct way in: the Cobalt Blue Abstract and the Abstract Blue Tile, hung big — 70×100 in thin black frames, side by side above a pale sofa. Both are painted in exactly the 2027 shade, and as a pair they read like one continuous surface of blue glass. If you want the colour with company, the Matisse-style cut-out brings cobalt in with red and mustard. The button above opens the big pair on a real-scale wall in the Wall Designer.
The heritage route: blue and white
Luminous Blue's pedigree is porcelain: Delft tiles, willow-pattern plates, four centuries of blue on cream. The Delft Blue Tile print and the Willow Pattern print hang the tradition side by side — kitchens and dining rooms love them in oak frames, ideally near actual crockery. The willow plate version makes it a trio.
The heritage register: Delft and Willow Pattern over a table set to match.
The quiet route: navy after dark
The deep end of Luminous Blue is where bedrooms live. On a dark navy wall, hang darker still: the Full Moon night print, the Oyster Topography in navy and cream, and the Art Nouveau Vase linocut make a trio that works by lamplight — ink on ink, with cream lines doing the glowing. Oak frames keep it warm; ink-blue bedding finishes the room.
The quiet register: navy on navy, lit by one lamp and a paper moon.
Styling notes
Three rules keep Luminous Blue luminous. Give it cream — the colour needs a warm neutral around it, not grey. Choose the frame by register: black sharpens the electric abstracts, oak softens heritage and navy. One wall only — blue at this saturation is a soloist; let the rest of the room accompany. And if you are unsure between registers, open any of these walls in the Wall Designer and swap prints until the room answers.

Frequently asked questions
What is Luminous Blue?
Luminous Blue is the Colour of the Year 2027 named by trend forecasters WGSN and Coloro — a vibrant, electric blue inspired by lapis lazuli and sapphire, positioned as a bridge between heritage and technology.
How do I decorate with a strong blue without making the room feel cold?
Surround it with warm neutrals — cream walls, oak wood, bouclé and linen textures — and keep the saturated blue to one wall or one pair of prints. Oak frames warm blue art; black frames sharpen it. Avoid pairing strong blue with grey, which drains both.
What sizes do these prints come in?
Every design comes in 12 sizes, from A4 up to 70×100 cm, in both centimetre and inch formats — and all designs share the same size system, so any combination hangs together as a coherent set.
Where are the prints produced?
Each order is printed at the studio closest to you — in the EU, the UK, the USA, Canada or Australia — on 200 gsm archival matte paper. Production typically takes 2–5 business days, and all orders come with 30-day returns.
NoirPixelGallery is an independent art print gallery. Museum-quality giclée prints on 200 gsm archival matte paper, optional wooden frames and passepartouts, printed locally in the EU, UK and USA.
